I have been thinking a lot about my garden lately as it's almost time to plant. The mesquite tree in the back yard hasn't budded yet but I am expecting it to happen within the next two weeks. Either way, I will be planting, hopefully, on Saturday, April 15th! I'm SO excited to finally get this done.
One thing that has to happen is the rototiller that we took to the shop two days ago has to be serviced asap.
We had a landscaper come in and he did a CRAPPY job of tilling the soil. It's all uneven and there's large chunks of soil not broken down. All in all, we were very disappointed in his work. So, we have to re-till the garden soil and add in the composted cow manuere. I still have 1 row that will remain empty. I've been wracking my brain, trying to find something to grow there. I just haven't come up with anything yet.
My yellow bliss tomato plants are overdue for transplanting. My new, 4" pots will be arriving today so I can get that done. I have been setting them outside every day to harden them off. I will be giving two each to Daniel and Dr. Parker at work, and will be planting 1 for myself. The other 15 I will try to sell for about $3.50 each. If sold in the stores, they'd be about $4.59 each.
I harvested my pole bean seeds this year. Instead of using newly purchased seeds, I am going to use these. I'm hoping that they will do as well as in previous years. My beans are my best producer, not needing much from me after planting but an occasional spraying of Miracle Grow. Wish me luck!
