It started last Sunday evening on our way home from West Virginia. His throat started hurting. He went to bed around 8pm which is odd so I knew something was up. By the middle of the night his fever was 101.5.
After his history with strep throat, I decided to take him to the doctor right away. As expected, it is strep. She gave him an antibiotic and sent him on his way. Trouble is that this time the meds aren't working. I am alternating Tylenol and Ibuprophen and his temp is staying around 100. He's miserable and his throat is so sore, he can hardly swallow.
I finally called the doctor yesterday and she said it might be viral vs. bacterial. His fever broke last night while sleeping and he's been fever free today...that is, until I let him go across the street to a kids activity at church. He came home with a fever of 102. Back to bed he went...and there he stays until he's well.
He's missed so much of school I wouldn't be surprised if they come to check up on him! Oh well....school work can wait.
On a side note...I'm GLAD the election is over!!!!!
