Greg and I attended the concert Friday night and it was as awsome as I had expected it to be. I haven't seen Steven Curtis Chapman for 17 years! He's as great now as he was back in the day. As I have mentioned before, SCC is involved with his organization Shaohannah's Hope.
Michael W. Smith is a long time supporter of Compassion International which provides food, clothing, medical care and education to children in third world countries via individual sponsorship. I was able to sponsor a little girl from Tonga, back in the early 80's. During the intermission, the drummer spoke about the ministry and gave everyone an opportunity to sponsor a child. All of the children represented that night were orphans.
I'd like you to meet the newest member of our family...Marta Lakew...Her picture stood out to me when I walked up to the table where packets were being displayed and her red sweater and pretty eyes caught my eye!
I am looking forward to sponsoring Marta and writing and receiving letters. If you feel that you can sponsor a child, click the link above. It only costs $32 a month! I figured I spend more than that on Mountain Dew each month. I'd rather put the money to much better use!
