Amanda is a silly nut...

As I sat on my bed reading posts from years gone by, I found it amusing that I had mentioned in several posts, Amanda's inability to make up her mind. In the last three years she's wanted to be a hair stylist, interior designer, tatoo artist, real estate agent, veterinarian, an elementary school teacher, and a daycare worker. As I was chuckling at how silly she is, the phone rang. It was Amanda calling to ask me what I thought about the Navy. Uh oh, here we go again.

She was telling me that she had "checked into it" whatever that means. Apparently she had a desire to join the Navy before she got pregnant but never acted on it. I asked her why she would want to join and she mentioned that they have police in the Navy.

One thing Amanda was very sure of during her high school years was that she wanted to be a police officer. During her 11th grade year, she joined some program at the high school that was taught by a police officer. I can't remember what it was called but she spent half the day in that class and participated in after school activities. She enjoyed the class, but the one thing that really bothered her was the talk the intstructor had about police officers and the high incidence of violence in the home. She seemed to lose interest. I think she was afraid of this happening to her.

She took several classes at the college recently but was turned down for financial aid this semester because she dropped a class to late and it counted against her. She has to pay for her next class, and then apply for aid for the next term. She didn't have the money so she didn't take a class this semester.

I had convinced her to start school and figure out what she wanted to major in at a later time. Now she's thinking about the Navy, UGH! Like I've said before in previous posts, I think I'll sit and wait on this one. No sense getting all worked up over something I have no control over, and she'll probably change her mind soon anyway!

Sure am glad I'm not that way! *cough*
