I have this co-worker....

who just about fell off his chair yesterday when I told him that I just realized I forgot to change the oil in my car....for 30 THOUSAND miles. *cough*

"Come on! Changing oil is a MAN'S job!" That was my reply. He looked at me with a blank stare. Heh. Ok, so I have neglected the car but It's STILL RUNNING...DUH.

Ok, seriously, the tags expire on 7/31/08 and I was going to drop the car off tonight at the garage to be inspected tomorrow and have the oil changed. My co-worker saw me in the parking lot today and gave me heck about it not being done yet. "Your car is going to break down on you while you're on the highway!", He said.
I was like, whatever...I'M GETTING IT DONE TOMORROW.

You know where this is going, don't you? Uh huh. Hunk of Junk broke down on me tonight. On the highway. No, I'm not joking. Guess who I thought of first? Dang it. Guess who WON'T hear that I broke down?

Greg came to my rescue. Good thing is I was just pulling into a gas station to fill the sucker up. Now I have $30 of gas and no car! Greg drove it to the garage, 45 min. down the road and I followed in his truck. He thinks it's having problems shifting. The HOLD light kept blinking on and off. For those of you who don't know, the hold button is related to the overdrive thingy.(real technical, huh?) He thought it was the transmission at first. It better not be. I can't afford to fix/replace that!

Just two days ago I said to Greg that my 3 year old car had 76,000 miles on it and that I wanted a new one but there's two major reasons that I won't...

1. My paycheck is different each time and I can't count on any set amount. Commission sucks.
2. It's paid for. Why would I create a new monthly bill for myself when it's still running?

Hopefully it's not a big thing and everything will be ok. Do I believe that? Not on your life! I hate cars.

***********************************************

My feet stink. Ha! Seriously. I'm sitting on the bed with one leg bent and all I smell is feet. Stinky. Do your feet sweat in black shoes? Mine do. If I spend the day in my white tennis shoes, no smell. Black work shoes, stinky!

I have to take the puppies to be dewormed tomorrow. This appointment has been cancelled by me three times and by them once. I will make it tomorrow come hell or high water.

Oh! I found the missing camera....here's some pics of Jacob and Amanda...

So, what is the verdict on your car? I hope it is an easy (and inexpensive) fix.

My oxygen sensor went bad quite a while ago. Several people, including the technician said, "It's not a big deal, you don't have to fix it right now." So I didn't.

Apparently it's now causing shifting issues. I have to call about the car today. The part is $159 and lord only knows how much they are going to charge for labor.

I guess it could have been worse. If the transmission went out I would have been up the creek.
