Still alive...

I haven't been online often and when I was, I wasn't in the mood to blog. Here's a quick update on what's been going on...

Jacob's birthday party was cancelled. He got the stomach flu last Wednesday and was admitted to the hospital Friday night. They wanted to put an IV in him so he wouldn't get dehydrated. He couldn't keep anything down and wouldn't eat.

I visited him Saturday. I was the only one who could get him to eat something. First he ate some frozen fruity ice thing in a cup, then I got him to eat some cereal with mashed up bananas in it. Of course, after not eating for three days, guess who blew out his diaper? And take a wild guess who got to clean it up? Uh huh....ME.

Amanda was sick to her stomach also and so if she tried to change the diaper, she would have barfed all over. So I got to do it. Lucky Me. The room started stinking and everyone was blaming each other for doing it. I just laughed and said, "It's Jacob!" They all scattered.

Anyway, enough poop talk. Jacob was cut loose from the hospital around 8pm Saturday evening and is slowly feeling better. I brought his birthday gifts to the hospital. One of them was a pair of swim trunks with these crocks you see him eating in the picture.

Isn't this the cutest face you've ever seen?

Here's Jacob and his mom...

After Jacob blew out his diaper and had a hospital gown put on, he snuggled with his dad.

I talked to Amanda today. He was sick to his stomach again today but was still eating. That's a good thing.

I think I said that we rented the house down the road. It's closer to work by about 15 min. The other day Thomas was walking home from the bus stop and saw a snake sunning himself on the road. We won't have this problem in the new house. The bus will come right to the front door.

Here's a picture...

Like I said, the baptist church is right across the street. This was taken Sunday morning, after we left the service...

I have 6 weeks to move in. Now I just need the energy and six more pairs of hands.

Lucky was sick last week so I took him to the vet. I also took Beans. They did an ultrasound on her belly. She's definately pregnant and right now, they count four puppies. They're due the same week we are due to move out of this house. I told the new landlord I had TWO dogs. NOT six. Ugh.

I think I am going to ask Greg if we can keep her and the puppies at his house for the first few weeks. That way we won't get in trouble with the new landlord.

The kids are looking forward to getting out of school. Shawn just went to the junior/senior prom last Saturday and rented a tux. I was in Maryland at the hospital so I couldn't get a picture!

I finished up my class and will know on the 8th what my final grade is.

Greg bought us a new riding mower. That's a good thing. Thing is, I need it at both houses and have no way to transport it. I have Greg's truck parked here. I might have to borrow his trailer and haul it over there to cut the grass. It's just over 1 acre.

I slept with the window open a few inches last week and got a sore throat. It's now progressed to a wheezing cough that needs an inhaler. I was due to work today from 1pm to 9pm but left at 3. I was feeling like crap and my voice is on the fritz. Top that off with plugged ears and runny/sneezy nose, and you get one unhappy appliance salesperson.

Well, that's all I can think of right now. I'm sure there's more to tell, but it'll have to wait.

I'm going to lay down.

That must have killed you watching Jacob in hospital? I hate those places. I hope really he's ok now.
That was funny though, diaper explodes. I remember the first times I changed Julian's diaper when I came back in '99. I almost puked. Matter of fact,I did a few times. I had to run to the can. Then there was the times leading up to his being toilet trained and it really stunk. I would be baby-sitting and dreading the whole scene. Big ole chunks of poo sent uncle Kev to retching.

Holy crap! (nothing intended)The Church is just across the street!
How sweet is that?
