My brain is all over the place tonight. I have so many things on my mind that I can't think of anything to write about.
There's alot going on. I've been helping Greg pack up his house for his move on Tuesday. He is selling the house we lived in. I'm in a funk about that.
I have to bring my chickens to this house tomorrow which means I have to purchase some 4x4's to build a pen for them to run in. Can't let them out here...they would become someone's lunch.
Speaking of lunch, the daycare center fed us chicken THREE days in a row this past week. Chicken patties, chicken wraps and then chicken nuggets. PUKE* Someone needs to use their imagination. The worst part is it's all frozen to start out with. The oven is like 50 years old and doesn't heat evenly so half the food is like rubber, the other half is cooked just right.
Some people haven't a clue. When I cook in the kitchen, I turn the pans around half way through baking. Doesn't take a PhD to figure it out.
I bought this really cool chair at the flea market today. I paid $50 for it. Ok, it wasn't wise to spend that much money on a chair but it caught my eye while I was buying tomatoes and apples. I just couldn't leave it there! I also bought two books. That's why I went there in the first place. Maybe next week I should only bring a few bucks. That way I won't come home with furniture I don't need.
I feel old. (Shut up, I am not!)
I could have gone to a party tonight. A birthday party. Food. Free food. Instead I spent the evening watching soaps on the DVR.
Tomorrow we are going to the Annual Autumn Festival at the National Zoo Conservation Center, down in Front Royal. I am looking forward to taking pictures. I hope they let me. I want to get a picture of the red panda.
Thomas is in MY bed. Two dogs are in my bed. I won't get much sleep tonight. I need sleep. I have to get up early to go clean the house. I don't live there anymore but I helped mess it up so I figure I'll help clean it. Gotta shampoo carpets also.
Ever chase chickens around? It's not easy. Almost impossible to catch. That's why we aren't letting them out in the morning. It takes at least two people to catch them. One stands outside and holds the door shut (it won't stay shut on it's own) the other person gets inside the coop (it's 8x8x8) and chases them around a smaller space. Once you catch one, it's handed out to the person holding the door. They then hold the door shut with their foot then put the chicken in a cage. It's very important to make sure the cage door is closed or you have a bigger problem on your hands. It's great fun. You should try it sometime. Chicken poo dust smells simply heavenly.
I'm angry that Thomas' father didn't record any video for him to watch as he grows older. He always said he would do it but never could bring himself to. He didn't want to cry on the tape. So now there's a 10 year old boy who has never heard his father speak to him.
Greg gave Thomas his change "jug" tonight. It's a huge water jug that you see in a water cooler thingy. We all gave an amount we thought was in it...the winner gets a free dinner. Greg said it held a total of $47. My guess was over $100, Thomas said $90. I won. The quarters alone came to $220.50!! He's in heaven! I told him we needed to put it in a savings account for our Disney World trip in 2008. He went to bed happy.
I'm sleepy and cold. Going to bed. Guess I had something to say after all.
Night.
