My Aunt Norma Gatton, aka "Aunt Mouse" was laid to rest Friday, in Maryland. Her memorial service will be Saturday. She was my grandfathers sister. Here she is with her two sons, Brent, on the left and Danny on the right.
From the time I was a little girl, I thought Aunt Mouse was so much fun to be around. She was always full of energy and always seemed to have a smile on her face. She dressed funky and had a cool accent which I found out recently was a "DC" area accent.
Although I never saw her pet skunk (yes, I said skunk) I did get to see her frog/fish pond in her back yard. She had a lot of different interests, some of which were stained glass, small frog and mice statue collecting, and the strangest one...frog taxidermy! She stuffed the little frogs and her husband created tiny instruments to place in their hands. But her most favorite and passionate past time was promoting her son, Danny Gatton and his band. She even created NRG Records (pronounced "energy" ) because no one would sign him at first.
You can read about Danny here...

Aunt Mouse will be missed by all who knew her. I only wish I could have known her better. But hey, there'll be time for that in eternty!
Rest in Peace, Aunt Mouse.
Here's an updated picture taken of Beans and Lucky. Lucky hates the camera pointed at him and was about to take off. Beans was interested for about 10 seconds then she wanted to go play as well. She's almost 4 months old! I know a little white pooch who is starting to realize that she's a "she", if you know what I mean. I don't know how many times I've walked into a room and said, "Get you nose out of there!" hahaha...ok, too much information, sorry!
I promised Rob that I'd post this picture in color when I found it. The dang book was right here in my room the whole time. I was on a mission to find another book to read and it was in with all the books I purchased at a flea market but have yet to read.
Thomas is in the 5th grade this year. That means a chance to play in the band. We rented this clarinet for him last night. I used to play it in 5th grade as well, so I helped him a bit and he's been blowing that thing ever since he got home. He's been in band class but they don't start bringing instruments until next week. Anyone got a spare pair of ear plugs?
We had a hell of a thunderstorm last night and once it was over, I opened the front door to let the dogs out and found three of these tree frogs on the glass. They were only about an inch long. It was our first time seeing them. Usually we come out and find toads jumping along the path.
BLAST FROM THE PAST....

This was taken in Ocean City, Maryland summer of 84(?) I think Chris is 2 in this picture which would make me almost 19. That picture makes me sick. I actually thought I was FAT! I wish I was that size now, dang it. As you can see, it was dusk and a little boy was getting cranky. He didn't want his picture taken. That rabbit he's holding was his favorite. We didn't go anywhere without it.
